Auxiliarist (GEORGE WASHINGTON) is cited for superior professional achievement while serving as Division 4 Captain where he provided invaluable management and leadership support from (MONTH YEAR to MONTH YEAR). During this timeframe, he also took on the additional responsibilities of Flotilla Commander for Flotilla 41 in (YEAR). Auxiliarist (WASHINGTON) set himself aside as a true leader and mentor when he stepped forward to lead in the revitalization and re-organization of Flotilla 47 in Port Townsend, Washington. Auxiliarist (WASHINGTON) was instrumental in planning, developing and executing the many public affair events that were intended to increase the awareness of the Coast Guard Auxiliary and attract new members.  The Revitalization effort involved recruiting and managing the services of 30 Auxiliarists for an extended period of time. Without Auxiliarists (WASHINGTON)'s commitment and focus the many Public Affairs events that were arranged and superbly executed could not have taken place or been effective. He professionally assembled a blueprint for the revitalization process of a Flotilla and is largely responsible for this process being adopted by District Thirteen.Auxiliarist (WASHINGTON)'s vision and leadership is second to none in promoting the goals of the Auxiliary. Auxiliarist (WASHINGTON)'s spirit of volunteerism, diligence, and devotion to service are mort heartily commended and are in keeping with the highest traditions of the United States Coast Guard and the Coast Guard Auxiliary.

Auxiliarist (GEORGE WASHINGTON) is cited for outstanding operational performance in support of the United States Coast Guard and Coast Guard Auxiliary from (MONTH YEAR to MONTH YEAR). Auxiliarist (WASHINGTON) demonstrated outstanding operational competence and technical expertise as District Operations Officer.  While performing as Operations Officer for Division 4 and Flotilla 42, he dispatched in excess of 1039 Auxiliary patrols, including standby ready boats for rescue swimmer training and on the water operational training for the United States Coast Guard. As Chief Operations Examiner Coordinator for District 13, Auxiliarist (WASHINGTON) developed and instituted a quality program training Coxswains and boat crews. Additionally, He directed numerous training and qualification exercises for boat crews with the joint Navy & Coast Guard “Operation Seahawk”. While fulfilling these multiple offices, Auxiliarist (WASHINGTON) performed in excess of 1850 mission hours demonstrating outstanding commitment and dedication.  Auxiliarist (WASHINGTON) has exhibited superior performance as an Operations Liaison Officer with Group Port Angeles, (WASHINGTON) from (YEAR to YEAR). His knowledge, skill and insistence on adherence to the highest standards of the United States Coast Guard have reflected most favorable on his efforts.

Auxiliarist Washington’s dedication, judgment and devotion to duty are most heartily commended and are in keeping with the highest traditions of the United States Coast Guard and the Coast Guard Auxiliary.

Auxiliarist (GEORGE WASHINGTON) succeeded in building stronger relationships through the State Boating Law Administrator offices and with the District and Regional Recreational Boating Safety councils. Auxiliarist (GEORGE WASHINGTON) selflessly volunteered approximately 4274 documented hours during his tour as Commodore.  His volunteer service, commitment and leadership resulted in an unprecedented level of Auxiliary support and outreach to Coast Guard missions.  Auxiliarist (GEORGE WASHINGTON) continuously championed the interactions and accomplishments of the seamless working relationships between all components of team Coast Guard. Auxiliarist (GEORGE WASHINGTON) has been an outstanding leader and is highly regarded as a beacon serving in the most selfless manner possible for the members of the Auxiliary of District Thirteen. Auxiliarist (GEORGE WASHINGTON) is cited for outstanding achievement in support of the United States Coast Guard and Coast Guard Auxiliary from 1989 to present.  Throughout this period Auxiliarist (WASHINGTON) repeatedly demonstrated exceptional leadership skills while acting in a variety of positions intended to strengthen both his Flotilla and Division. Over the years, he successfully served in the capacity of Flotilla Commander, Vice Flotilla Commander and many Staff Officer positions to include Operations, Member Training and Public Education. During the last four years, Auxiliarist (WASHINGTON) served with distinction while acting as the Division 7 Public Affairs Officer.  When asked, Auxiliarist (WASHINGTON) eagerly created innovative programs which focused on delivering the Water Safety Message to a diverse audience.  As part of his ongoing initiative to emphasize education, he established the Children’s Water Festival at the Sylvan Campus of Portland Community College. When the Daughters of Neptune expressed their interest in taking the Water Safety Program, Auxiliarist (WASHINGTON) ensured that they all were able to pass the required tests and receive their Boater Education Identification Cards. Auxiliarist (WASHINGTON) is an effective Instructor in Advanced Coastal Navigation, Boating Safety and Seamanship and qualified as an instructor for the State of Oregon Boater Safety Program.  Auxiliarist (WASHINGTON) has volunteered over 250 hours on patrol, during one of these patrols on the Columbia River shortly after 9/11; he observed and reported a boat with foreign seamen attempting to get ashore. He continues to contribute when and where he is needed, Auxiliarist (WASHINGTON) is a vital part of the fabric that makes the Auxiliary such a success.  Auxiliarist (WASHINGTON)’s spirit of volunteerism, diligence, leadership, and devotion to duty are most heartily commended and are in keeping with the highest traditions of the United States Coast Guard and Coast Guard Auxiliary.
